It’s #GivingTuesday (is it weird to hashtag in a blog post?), and I’ve got a list of some amazing organizations that could use our help.
As you all know (??) I am a HUGE, like oddly obsessed with, animal advocate.
I care more about animals than I do people, and if I could live in a world with a select handful of individuals and 163782891926 animals, I would be one happy camper.
That said, I’m sharing some of my fave charities that do a ton of good for animals and the environment.
+ HSI: The Humane Society is an amazing amazing group. Without their constant efforts everyday to help dogs, cats, pigs, horses, etc., we wouldn’t have half the animals we do. Consider making even just a $10 donation to them so they can continue to rescue and rehome abused animals all over the world. Today they’re trying to raise funds to vaccinate over 12,000 street dogs, so give up your holiday latte and donate!
+ Animal Hope And Wellness: I know we all know about the disgusting acts going on in China revolving around the dog and cat meat trade. Marc is an amazing human being and has shut down several slaughter houses in China and saved hundreds of lives. Without enough funding, he can’t continue to rescue these dogs and cats, so check out his site and see how you can help! Lisa Vanderpump (basically my idol), also has a charity set up to help dogs and cats in China, and you can donate money or items needed, here.
+ Local Shelters/Rescues: Shelters, especially no-kill shelters, can always use donations, food, bedding, toys… Call around and see what they could most of and consider either buying a dog bed, some toys, or a bag of food. Rescues are almost always non-profit, and the people running them are working for free. Sending $10 or $20 is enough to to help with a dog’s medical bills, getting a dog into a foster home and providing them with things the foster needs, and could be the difference between a dog being euthanized or given a second chance.
+ SeaLife Trust: Let’s not forget about our marine life on this Giving Tuesday! SeaLife Trust works to preserve the oceans and the animals in it, by reducing waste in the ocean, increasing marine protection, and combatting overfishing. Sign their petition here or donate!
+ Care For Wild, DSWT, & Boycott Circus are all amazing wildlife charities. DSWT helps rehabilitate elephants and rhinos that have been orphaned or injured due to poachers, Care For Wild helps rhinos who have been victims of poaching, and Boycott Circus helps big cats that have been used in circuses or kept as pets in confined spaces. Boycott Circus has the cutest apparel too! Check out their online shop for a way to help out AND look cute. You can also volunteer at these organizations (hello, amazing vacations while hanging out adorable animals!)
+TenTree: Ok, so this company not only has some cute ass clothing, but for every item sold, they plant ten trees (did the name give that away?). They also help decrease their carbon footprint when it comes to manufacturing and producing their line. And, by planting 10 trees for each item sold, they’re helping to remove pollution from the air, create habitats for wildlife, and just making this planet better.
+ Sand Cloud Towels: I stumbled across this company the other day and I am OBSESSED. You all know I love anything beachy, and this company helps the oceans and marine life with every sale. They have water bottles, beach towels, accessories… They’re also having a HUGE 50% off sale right now. Snagged up this whale wristlet for only $8. Use this code for 25% off your first order.
Ok, so give back, do good, and buy Christmas gifts that will do something great for people or animals in need this year.
