Happy Sunday, babes!
How are you??
I’m currently sipping on rosé wearing a face mask, and watching Law And Order. NBD.
What did you over the weekend? Are you ready for Monday?
Yea… Me neither. BUT I have been insanely productive this weekend and I have a crazy short week at work, so I’m not really dreading the start of the week like I usually am.
I forced Arthur to take ohhh… about 23723091 outfit pics of me for the blog, drank a little too much at dinner with my parents, cleaned the house, and napped. A lot.
Good times for sure.
Ok, so let’s talk about this adorbs jumpsuit I literally got in the mail yesterday.
First of all, it was only $15 and it looks pretty similar to this one (that happens to be $400).
It’s super comfy, has pockets, and is basically the perfect outfit for Summer. I’ve already planned all the places I’ll be wearing it. It would even be really cute with wedges for a date night.
I’m really just 100% in love with it.
Ok, so back to what I was saying above about getting ready for the week.
Working full-time and keeping up with the blog can be a little tricky at times, but I’m quickly realizing that I really do need to start taking full advantage of my free time and spending it here. I mean, I can’t really expect to grow A Lifestyle Daily into a brand and business if I’m not investing 110% right?
I’m no expert at juggling the two or even at giving this my all right now, but I do have some little things that I’ve done that have helped, so I definitely wanted to share for all the other hustlers working full-time and trying to grow their business.
+ When you have a creative surge, lock yourself away in a room, turn off your phone and use that time to really focus and get shit done. There are plenty of days when I come home and I can’t even think of a blog topic, let alone an entire post full of value. That’s where my handy and oh-so-cute notebook comes in handy. Whenever I get a creative spark, I’ll immediately write out at least 15-20 blog topics and then schedule them in my planner. I write down mini ideas for each post (photo props, phrases I want to use, outfits I’m visualizing, etc). That way, when I’m in a total “I have no clue what my name even is because I am so drained” moment, I can go to my notebook and get inspired.
+ Work smarter, not harder. Ok, so this is something I’m still working on, but it’s so key. Organization plays a big role in this too. Instead of working on one blog post at a time (taking photos each day, creating collages..), look at your content calendar every Sunday, and take all the photos you need for the week in one day. Create all your collages, edit your photos, and be done. Then, throughout the week, since the hardest part is over, all you have to do is write content. No running around trying to stage photos or worry about the weather being shitty so you can’t take the outfit photo you wanted, and no spending hours creating a collage and using up all your creative energy.
+ Utilize scheduling apps. I suck at this, but I’m putting this on here because in the past I’ve been super consistent with using HootSuite and it is a lifesaver. I schedule the promotions of all my blog links I want to share for the week, links to some outfit and beauty products I’m loving, quotes to motivate others, and whatever other random things I want to share. Working 9-5 Monday- Friday, I can’t be on my phone sharing things throughout the day to each social media channel, so being able to use the scheduler has helped. I def need to get back in the habit of doing this.
+ Meal Prep. This doesn’t have to do with your side hustle, but it also kind of does. If you’re eating like shit because you’re too tired or lazy to cook a healthy meal, it’s gonna affect your brain. Pre-make some salads and smoothies and snacks, and have them ready for when you’ve woken up too late and only have time to throw your hair into a messy bun. You can grab your pre-made healthy lunch or smoothie, and be on the way.
What things do you do every Sunday to get ready for the week??
Off to finish Law and Order and wash this mask off my face.
